Seongjun Kim, Ph.D., LPC.


Seongjun is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri in US.  He received his Ph.D in Medical Family Therapy from Saint Louis University and his master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  Seongjun has worked with individuals, couples, and families at hospitals, counseling centers, and centers for family therapy. He believes that a successful outcome in therapy is the result of therapeutic working alliance with clients. He provides a secure base with clients in order to create a comfortable and safe atmosphere to facilitate each clients' healing process. He also helps clients build emotion regulation through emphatic attunement and collaboration with them.


Seongjun uses his integrative treatment approach that is Emotion and Insight Focused Therapy integrating Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Bowen Family Systems Theory. He specializes in treating depression, anxiety, and couple and family issues. He has worked with a range of client issues including depression, anxiety, social anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, stress management, panic disorder, interpersonal difficulties, spiritual issues, trauma due to sexual and physical abuse, cultural identity, substance abuse and sexual addiction, couple intimacy issues, and issues from the relationships between a child and parents.
